Treat your griller as you would a cast iron skillet. Before your first use, wash it in warm, soapy water and dry it thoroughly. Coat it with vegetable oil and put it in the oven at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Turn the oven off and allow to cool. When it’s seasoned, it will be pretty much non-stick. Wipe off after use. Do not put in a dish washer to clean. Hand wash and dry thoroughly.
If you forget to season your griller, it will rust. This is mild steel. If it rust, take an SOS pad and scrub it thoroughly to remove the rust and then season per the instructions above. Once you season your grill, you will not have to season it again.
